Scuba Diving Spring Break 2013…… Wooooooooo!!!

waikikidivephotoDiving in Hawaii is just one of those experiences that is hard to imagine if you have never done it. So much to think about and so many critters coming in from all angles. This spring has been no exception. Whales breaching, turtles cruising, dolphins spinning and all set against the backdrop of a blue sky and a shining sun.

Man, it’s great to be able to live and dive everyday here on Oahu.

Lot’s of new sightings just this past few weeks and our longtime diver Susanna was fortunate enough to snap this photo of a Flying Gurnard while doing some Oahu scuba diving with the KD crew last week. These critters are super rare and I can only recall about 4 other sightings in the past 8 years. Just goes to show you that you never know who might join you for a dive.

Bring on the Summer!

April is heating up and Kaimana Divers has you covered. In the past week alone our Hawaii scuba diving charters have been so outstanding!

Last weekend we got to dive with some amazing critters. Christine has been having a blast with her students lately and Drew just keeps rocking in the free world. I had the most amazing day aboard our private shark boat for some up close and out of the cage action with about a dozen sandbar sharks!

Hawaii Diving Videos…… Oahu scuba diving sites:

I am asked the questions a lot if there are photos or videos of the dive sites we visit here on Oahu. An although I have thousands from over the years, nothing is categorized very well. Good think I remembered about our good friend Mat Robbins. His Vimeo Channel has TONS of great videos of our wrecks and reefs (and some of him in his speedo’s).

Check it out and we hope to see you diving in Hawaii soon!

Winter Oahu Scuba Diving….. With Whales!

Such an insane week of diving in Hawaii.

Drew took the crew to Maui last weekend where they were greeted by tons of whale sightings. Our crew stayed busy diving on Oahu and got some pretty epic days as well.

One thing for sure about winter diving in Hawaii is that you never know when a big Humpback Whale might make an appearance. This past weekend we had several great views of spouts, fin slaps and tail slaps.

Video coming soon, but in the meantime here’s a classic of a full breach scuba diving of the west side last year:

Follow us on Twitter for more updates and join our Facebook Group to keep up with all your Oahu scuba diving buddies!

Until next time…… keep one eye on the blue!

Dive Oahu with the Pros!

Today was one of those days that just makes you smile…… To start it off, we had Lacy working hard on finishing up his Dive Master course. His energy combined with our new friend Ernest help take our scuba diving experience to a whole new level.

Since it had been 6 years since Ernest had dived, he wanted to get a little refresher session in and then go get a few dives in. Since part of being a Dive Master is to accompany certified divers on a tour, it worked great with what Lacy was already planning.

Our day couldn’t have been better either……. Diving in Hawaii is as sweet as it gets and our guys got dialed in within minutes and we were off to see some turtles! Will post some video tomorrow of our little reptiles but until then

ALOHA!
