Man, it’s great to be able to live and dive everyday here on Oahu.

Lot’s of new sightings just this past few weeks and our longtime diver Susanna was fortunate enough to snap this photo of a Flying Gurnard while doing some Oahu scuba diving with the KD crew last week. These critters are super rare and I can only recall about 4 other sightings in the past 8 years. Just goes to show you that you never know who might join you for a dive.

Diving here on Oahu tends to be a bit of an adventure on any given day but we have had some incredible dives lately. Take for example the sound of whales (not uncommon in winter months) but on 3 occasions this month they have been just a few hundred yards from the boat.

Then, last week we dropped in and as I turned around to check on our group a Hawaiian Monk Seal came cruising by. It’s such a thrill to see them swimming and playing in the ocean and it’s certainly a dive I won’t soon forget. Here’s a photo I managed to snap of this 1.5 year old male Kekoa last week
