About Kaimana Divers

Aloha from beautiful Oahu!

GABE

My name is Gabe and I’m the founder of Kaimana Divers. While working here on Oahu as a divemaster and instructor I always had a dream of someday owning my own company, doing what I love. That dream came to reality in the summer of 2006 when Kaimana Divers was born.

The name was taken to honor the ocean, which has been a source of fascination and awe since I was a boy growing up in California and Oregon. Mana is a Hawaiian word which conveys respect, power responsibility and balance while Kai refers to the ocean.

I’m a PADI Open Water Instructor and I teach top-notch programs in small group settings or private lessons. I offer a variety of services, from dive charters and courses to intro dives and refreshers, but I pride myself on safe, fun and entertaining courses that will help you get the most out of your time underwater.

I am excited that a day at the office means taking folks out to explore the power and beauty of the Pacific Ocean. Taking certified divers out is almost as rewarding as taking intro divers out. I can never forget my first experience underwater and think that yours should be equally as rewarding and otherworldly!

Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. If you are planning a vacation to paradise, let me know and I may be able to help with some insider info. Oh, and don’t forget to bring your dive gear, because no matter when you visit, we have world class diving year round!

Aloha and Mahalo

DEVIN

My name is Devin and I am a PADI IDC Staff Instructor. I started my dive career in Bali, where I first became an instructor back in 2022. I was lucky to have an “extended training” during COVID, which definitely helped me become the diver I am today! I’ve spent close to 3 years diving in Bali and close to 2 more years between Kauai and Oahu. With thousands of dives, my expertise spans across guiding and teaching divers of all levels in many different kinds of dive conditions.

TANNER

Aloha!

I got my dive master with Kaimana Divers in 2023, and I’ve enjoyed being part of the team since then! Every day out in the water brings new possibilities of marine critters and unique behaviors. Whether it’s seeing an eagle ray feed, watching sharks sleep, or observing eels and jacks hunting together, sharing these experiences with people is what keeps me coming back to the boat and throwing a tank on my back.

I’m from Seattle, and I came to Honolulu in 2019 for my undergrad in marine biology. I am now about a year away from getting my master’s degree in marine biology at UH Manoa. I study reef fish feeding and juvenile population dynamics with a focus on parrotfish. Feel free to ask me tons of questions about marine life!

Jamie

Hi! My name is Jamie and I am both a PADI & SSI instructor. My dive journey began in college when I did a beginner dive in Panama. I instantly fell in love with this sport. As I finished college I built up my dive certifications, and started working as a dive instructor after graduating.

I have a degree in Environmental Science, and before becoming a dive instructor, I worked in research and have studied whale sharks and many pelagic species throughout Baja, California. I love teaching diving and getting more people underwater to experience the beauty below. Dive with me and you are sure to walk away with a few new marine animal facts!
